Intake Agent

Drop a file into one folder and it lands in the right place in your repository, renamed to match. Invoices, statements, contracts, receipts, notes: read and filed automatically by Claude. Runs entirely on your computer.

All platforms and versions

Free. Windows, macOS, and Linux.

How it works

1. Drop

Put a document in your inbox folder. The app notices it the moment it finishes saving.

2. Decide

Claude reads the file, looks at your folder structure, and picks the best destination and filename.

3. File

The file is moved and renamed to match its neighbors. Anything uncertain waits in a review folder, untouched.

Download

Leave a $1 tip Optional, and the download stays free. A $1 tip supports development. No account, no license, no unlock.

Downloads are published from the Releases page. Developers can instead clone the source repository and run it from Python.

Set up in two minutes

  1. Install. Run the downloaded installer, then open Intake Agent from your Start menu, Applications, or desktop.
  2. Configure. Click Settings, choose the repository folder to file into, and paste your Anthropic API key (from console.anthropic.com). No terminal required.
  3. Start. Press Start. Drop a document into the inbox folder and watch it get filed. Use Hide to tray to keep it running in the background, or turn on Run at login.

First-launch security prompt

This early release is not yet code-signed, so your operating system shows a one-time warning. On Windows, click More info then Run anyway. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open. This is expected and safe: the app runs locally and is open source.

Your files stay yours

The agent runs on your machine and can only read inside the repository you point it at. To decide where a document belongs, its contents are sent to the Anthropic API and nothing else leaves your computer. Your API key is stored in your operating system's secure keychain, and every move is logged locally and can be undone.
