Privacy Policy, Quick-add for Firefly III

Quick-add for Firefly III is a browser extension, by Vida Solutions, Inc, that lets you add a transaction to your own Firefly III server. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data. It is separate from the Vida Solutions website privacy policy.

What the extension stores

Your Firefly III server URL and Personal Access Token, plus your most recent transaction type and account. These are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. They never leave your device except to authenticate requests to the Firefly III server you configured.

What the extension sends, and to whom

  • The extension communicates only with the Firefly III server URL you enter.
  • It sends your access token to that server, in an Authorization: Bearer header, to read your accounts and categories and to add the transactions you enter.
  • It sends data to no other server. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party service, and no advertising.

What the extension does NOT access

  • It does not read your browsing history.
  • It does not access your tabs or page content.
  • It accesses no website other than the Firefly III server you configured. Host access is requested at runtime for that one origin only.
  • It does not collect personal information for the developer. The transactions you enter are financial data, but they are sent only to your own Firefly III server, never to the developer or any third party.

Data retention and deletion

Your URL and token remain in your browser until you remove them, by clearing the fields in Settings, or by uninstalling the extension, which deletes all stored data. Your financial data lives on your own Firefly III server; this extension keeps no copy.
